Petroplus is lead by an experienced Management Team
J.P. Vettier, J. Watson, P. Senkbeil, A. Mawad and W.T. Skok
The Executive Committee consists of five members:
Jean-Paul Vettier, Chief Executive Officer
Jean-Paul Vettier was appointed CEO in September 2009. From 1993 to March 2006, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total Refining & Marketing, a multinational energy company. Between 1992 and 1996, he was non-executive Chairman of Total Petroleum North America. For two terms, he chaired Europia, the European oil industry association. Mr. Vettier was also active in advising investment and management firms on energy matters and he has also served as a Board Member for companies based in the US, Europe and Canada. Prior to joining Total in 1990 as Executive Vice President of Refining and Marketing, Mr. Vettier was employed by Rhone-Poulec for 16 years where he held operational responsibilities in the legal and strategic planning functions. From 1987 to 1989 he served as the General Manager of the Petrochemical Division and a member of the Executive Committee at Orkem.
Joseph D. Watson, Chief Financial Officer
Joseph D. Watson has served as our Chief Financial Officer since August 2010. Mr. Watson has thirteen years of executive experience in the independent refining sector. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Premcor from January to September 2005 after spending several years at various management levels in the company. Prior to joining Premcor, he spent nine years with Tosco Corporation, serving as President of The e-Place.com, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tosco, and as Vice President of Tosco Shared Services from November 2000 to February 2002. From 1993 to 2000, Mr. Watson served in various financial management positions at Tosco. From 1991 to 1993, he served as Vice President of Argus Investments, Inc., a private investment company. Prior to joining Petroplus, Mr. Watson was involved at the executive level in the alternative energy industry, serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Process Energy Solutions LLC, and has consulted for various energy companies, including PBF Energy Company.
Peter F. Senkbeil, Chief Refining Officer
Peter F. Senkbeil has served as our Chief Refining Officer since November 2009 and as Member of our Executive Committee since February 2010. He was the General Manager for the Inland Refining System from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Senkbeil has 30 years of experience in the refining industry. He was the refinery manager at the Exxon Ingolstadt refinery from 1997 until 2007, when Ingolstadt was acquired by Petroplus. Mr. Senkbeil holds a degree in mechanical engineering and joined Exxon in 1980 where he progressed through management positions in maintenance, engineering and operations in the former German Exxon refineries. He also held several non-refinery assignments including Supply Manager for Exxon Central and East Europe as well as foreign assignments to the US with Exxon Research and Engineering.
Antonio Mawad, Chief Commercial Officer
Antonio Mawad has been our Chief Commercial Officer since July 2011. He served as the Business Unit Manager for the Coryton, Antwerp and Petit Couronne refineries from 2009 to 2011, and Refining Economics Manager from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Mawad holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals. He has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and refining industry. Before joining Petroplus in 2007, Antonio served in various capacities at Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), including supply and commercial positions in the energy sector from 2000 to 2007, and engineering and operations in refineries from 1983 to 2000.
W. Thomas Skok, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
W. Thomas Skok has served as our General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since December 2009. He served as Associate General Counsel of Petroplus from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Skok has almost 40 years of experience in the energy industry, notably in-house councel positions with Unocal Corporation, Tosco Corporation, and ConocoPhillips. Mr. Skok is a graduate of Lycoming College (Pennsylvania) and earned his Juris Doctorate degree at Western State University College of Law (California). He also holds a certificate in financial management from University of California and is graduated from School of Trade Credit & Financial Management achieved at Williams College (Massachusetts) in the early 1980's.
