Our History
Below are the key milestones that helped us become an important player in the European midstream oil market:
Petroplus International B.V. was founded in 1993 and listed in 1998 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Petroplus Internaltional B.V. had various business segments, including refining, having acquired the Cressier, Switzerland and Teesside, UK refineries in 2000.
- March 2005: Petroplus is taken private and delisted from Euronext Amsterdam.
- May 2006: We recruit a new management team, including Thomas D. O'Malley as new Chairman and CEO, to turn the Company into a "pure play refiner".
- June 2006: Petroplus acquires the Antwerp Refinery (the Belgium Refining Corporation) in Belgium.
- August 2006: Petroplus Tankstorage, Frisol, Oxyde Chemical, 4Gas and other non-core assets are sold.
- November 2006: Petroplus launches initial public offering on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
- March 2007: Acquisition of the Ingolstadt Refinery in Germany and the associated Bayern Marketing business.
- May 2007: Acquisition of the Coryton Refinery in the United Kingdom.
- March 2008: Acquisition of the Petit Couronne and Reichstett refineries located in France.
- September 2009: Jean-Paul Vettier is appointed CEO of the Company.
- November 2009: Convertion the Teesside Refinery into a marketing and storage facility is initiated.
- January 2010: Implementation of the Three Year Improvement Plan (3YIP).
- January 2010: Sale of Petroplus Refining Antwerp N.V. and Petroplus Antwerp Bitumen N.V., Belgium.
- February 2011: Patrick Monteiro de Barros is appointed Chairman of the Company, after Thomas D. O’Malley’s retirement as Chairman and Member of the Board.
- April 2011: Convertion the Reichstett Refinery into a marketing and storage facility is initiated.
