Chartering & Vetting
Petroplus Chartering is responsible for transportation in the international market including the following activities:
- Chartering of Vessels
- Marine Vessel Criteria
- FFA Swaps
- Ship Agency relationships
Petroplus Vetting is responsible for ensuring the safety, suitability and quality of:
- Ships carrying cargoes owned by any of the Petroplus companies
- Ships which will operate in any of the group's terminals
These responsibilities are achieved by ensuring vessels comply at a minimum with:
- The international rules and regulations of the Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS), and all other international safety standards: ISGOTT, ISM, SIGTTO, etc.
- Fulfillment of regulations to prevent sea pollution (MARPOL).
- Valid Statutory Certifications.
- Maintaining the following critical equipments: navigation equipment, safety and firefighting equipment, loading and unloading gear, mooring equipment, main and auxiliary engines, etc.
- Crew training and familiarity with operations of the above mentioned equipment.
- Proper Certification of Officers and crew.
- Structural soundness, when circumstances permit.
