Management Team

In May 2006 Thomas D. O'Malley, the former chairman and chief executive officer of Premcor Inc. and former chairman and chief executive officer of Tosco Corporation joined Petroplus together with several key executives from the former Premcor management team: Karyn Ovelmen as chief financial officer, Chet Kuchta as chief commercial officer, Bruce Jones as chief operating officer and Michael Gayda as general counsel.

Thomas D. O'Malley, Chairman

Thomas D. O'Malley has served as our Chairman since March 2008. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Petroplus from May of 2006 to February of 2008. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. O'Malley served as president and chief executive officer of Argus Services Corporation. Prior to that, he served as the chairman of the board of directors of Premcor Inc. from February 2002 to 2005, a senior executive employee of Premcor Inc. from January 2005 to September 2005, chief executive officer of Premcor Inc. from February 2002 to December 2004 and president of Premcor Inc. from February 2002 to January 2003. Mr. O'Malley served as vice chairman of the board of Phillips Petroleum Company from the consummation of that company's acquisition of Tosco Corporation in September 2001 to January 2002. He served as chairman and chief executive officer of Tosco from January 1990 to September 2001 and president of Tosco from May 1993 to May 1997 and from October 1989 to May 1990.

Jean-Paul Vettier, CEO

Jean-Paul Vettier was appointed CEO in September 2009. From 1993 to March 2006, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total Refining & Marketing, a multinational energy company. Between 1992 and 1996, he was non-executive Chairman of Total Petroleum North America. For two terms, he chaired Europia, the European oil industry association. Mr. Vettier has recently been active in advising investment and management firms on energy matters and he has also seated as a Board Member for companies based in the US, Europe and Canada. Prior to joining Total in 1990 as Executive Vice President of Refining and Marketing, Mr. Vettier was employed by Rhone-Poulec for 16 years where he held operational responsibilities in the legal and strategic planning functions. From 1987 to 1989 he served as the General Manager of the Petrochemical Division and a member of the Executive Committee at Orkem.

Joseph D. Watson, CFO

Joseph D. Watson has served as our Chief Financial Officer since August 2010. Mr. Watson has thirteen years of executive experience in the independent refining sector. He served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Premcor from January to September 2005 after spending several years at various management levels in the company. Prior to joining Premcor, he spent nine years with Tosco Corporation, serving as president of The e-Place.com, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tosco, and as vice president of Tosco Shared Services from November 2000 to February 2002. From 1993 to 2000, Mr. Watson served in various financial management positions at Tosco. From 1991 to 1993, he served as vice president of Argus Investments, Inc., a private investment company. More recently, Mr. Watson has been involved at the executive level in the alternative energy industry, serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Process Energy Solutions LLC, and has consulted for various energy companies, including PBF Energy Company.

Chester Kuchta, COO

Chester Kuchta has served as our chief operating officer since November 2009. He joined Petroplus in June 2006 as chief commercial officer. Prior to this position, he served as vice president of crude oil supply and trading at the Premcor Refining Group Inc. from April 2002 until September 2005, when Premcor was acquired by the Valero Energy. Prior to joining Premcor, Mr. Kuchta served as the crude oil supply manager for Phillips 66 Company's East Coast and Gulf Coast Systems, following Phillips' acquisition of Tosco Corp. in 2001. Prior to joining Phillips, Mr. Kuchta served in various commercial and refining positions at Tosco from 1996 to 2001. Prior to joining Tosco, Mr. Kuchta spent six years at the Exxon Corporation in various refining, economic and environmental engineering positions.

Peter F. Senkbeil, General Manager Refining

Peter Senkbeil has served as our Refining General Manager since November 2009 and as Member of our executive committee since February 2010. He was the General Manager for the Inland Refining System from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Senkbeil has 30 years of experience in the refining industry. He was the refinery manager at the Exxon Ingolstadt refinery from 1997 until 2007, when Ingolstadt was acquired by Petroplus. Mr. Senkbeil holds a degree in mechanical engineering and joined Exxon in 1980 where he has progressed through management positions in maintenance, engineering and operations in the former German Exxon refineries. He also held several non refinery assignments including Supply manager for Exxon Central and East Europe as well as foreign assignments to the US with Exxon Research and Engineering.

W. Thomas Skok, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

W. Thomas Skok as served has our General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since December 2009. He served as Associate General Counsel of Petroplus from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Skok has almost 40 years of experience in the energy industry, notably in-house lawyer positions with Unocal Corporation, Tosco Corporation, and ConocoPhillips. Mr. Skok is a graduate of Lycoming College (Pennsylvania) and earned his Juris Doctorate degree at Western State University College of Law (California). He is also certified in financial management from University of California and the Graduate School of Trade Credit & Financial Management achieved at Williams College (Massachusetts) in the early 1980's.
